I've really been "off my normal circulation" the past few days with the distractions here in Chicago (Ginos!) lately, so I haven't been able to express my ideas perfectly into words or do much research properly either.

I meant overall diversity of everything possible, in my original post I mentioned anything else about people's "backgrounds" I was hoping that would be enough to get the topic started with this. I guess not. Sexual orientation counts when diversity is measured, I mean, it does make a city more "diverse" right?

No offense to the Bay Area, San Francisco seems like an awesome city. I just feel like the Tri-State and New York especially is going to win in just about every category possible. Just my opinion.

You realize that does include Lesbians, Gay, Straight, and Bisexuals too, right?

as far as the restaurant diversity part, I'm sure both regions are equally diverse... you can get anything you could ever think of in the bay area and I'm sure the same applies to NY.

Over here some of the more "exotic" restaurants I've seen are:

Peruvian
Lebanese
Persian
Mongolian
El Salvadorean
Nicaraguan
Jamaican
Spanish
Cuban
French
Mediterranean

and many more...

some of the most common ones are:

Mexican
Chinese (they differentiate by region of China here lol)
Indian
Japanese

The only type of food that's somewhat difficult to come by here is decent soul food/bbq... not enough blacks here I guess

I'm not going to bother with looking up sexuality-related SF pics/videos... I'll leave that up to someone who knows the subject better. I will say that SF probably isn't less diverse in terms of homosexuality/bisexuality/transexuality than NY.

Diversity is still impossible to quantify.
