As expected, the city council has also approved naming the 10th Street Connector and it's bridge after Dr. Leo Jenkins and Dr. Andrew Best. The city now has to submit the naming application to NCDOT.
Shows a new Life Science Building and parking deck (and a future building) that will consume the entire block from Evans to Cotanche and 9th to 10th street. A section of Forbes will be gone. I have no idea the time frame but this will continue the bevy of momentum and visual transformation in the Uptown area.

That coupled with the new student center and "Campus Edge" student housing on Charles St/10th will give the area a real feel of density.
they currently have the area marked off with orange construction fence and are working on laying pipes & such in the area near the old East Coast Music Building, where that street that was closed currently is.
So, I guess the answer is, they started to work on it about 3 weeks ago or so. Nothing major yet though.
Does anyone know what is being built at the corner of Davenport Farm and Frog Level? It looks like a dollar store, which is odd given that there is nothing but residential properties in this area. It looks like they just put a low end commercial building in the middle of a neighborhood.
