Thought Nebraska won it all in 1997....

EDIT: Couldn't remember, they split the title with Michigan.

OK State is close but I wouldn't consider them there yet... Not until they are in the picture at the END of the season. The Big 12 is still not on the SEC's level even with them... 7 to 3 programs is not close.

Nebraska has won a NC as a member of the Big12. (1997)

Program like OK State if fully dependent on the coach. He leaves and that program is back to being average.

It's either Vanderbilt and Kentucky.

Until the BCS the AP was widely considered the "true" National Title... Michigan won the AP. sure u can count the Coaches Poll but we all know it was given to Tom Osborne by the other coaches for his last year out of respect not because they were the best team... Hence the Coaches Poll awarding Nebraska #1... Not the AP.

The ridiculousness of a split title counting is what help lead to the BCS.

But rules are rules and they did win the upi... So fine they can have it. Nebraska is in Big 10 now so for all I care it can count as a Big 10 title. why would Big 12 wanna hang there hat on a school that shunned them? part of why they are who they are... SMH

I agree but thats true of any program even the ones with great tradition...

See GA in the 90's... Alabama during Curry years... And Tennessee since Fulmer.

Man I have to disagree, you know the SEC is no joke, you really never know what team will emerge every year, as Kentucky and Ole Miss they the only teams that are really hurting and the remaining 12 teams are all great teams! Think about what I'm saying, starting with the west teams, LSU, Bama, Arkansas, Auburn and Texas A&M all will be heavy in depth, Mississippi State is explosive on offense and defense and that team cannot be taken lightly, they can compete with any of the teams above, they held LSU to 19 pts and Bama 24 pts and that says a lot, the thing with Miss State is they lack in depth but they have the chemistry and that's what hurting Ole Miss, when they win their openers that's when they be dangerous!
