Watching Va Tech play Miami, and I couldn't help but think if this were5 years ago this would have been a battle of top 25's. Tonight it looks like there are a fair amount of empty seats.
Is the ACC just a poor conference or is Miami simply a good team?
I dont know how good Miami is. I would say the ACC stinks in general they only have 2 top 25 teams in #19 Florida St and #24 Wake Forrest. Not that good for a conference who was supposed to rival the SEC when they got Miami and FSU

The ACC in general, is not a powerhouse football conference. Basketball is. When Florida State entered the league in the early 90's, their football team was unstoppable. In fact they only lost 2 conference games from 1991-2000.
Occasinaly, a team will catch lightning in a bottle for one year or more, but then will come crashing down to earth afterwards.
We play San Jose State on Saturday (sunday my time) for bowl eligablity, win and we're 6-4 in with a shot for the WAC Championship, lose and it'll be a failure of a season.

Something I just read, Nevada has the #1 rushing offense in college football, A good thing to hold on to the ball.
-------" win and we're 6-4 with a shot at the WAC Championship "--
NO 6-4 team should "have a shot " at any championship.
Kinda waters down the definition of------"champion"-----( or exposes the mediocricy of the WAC Conference )
Its been an up and down conference for the WAC this year but it just shows it is getting stronger.
I definantly wouldn't worry about a 6-4 Nevada team, we've had a played some good teams and have played some decent football espiscally against Texas Tech.
