So far over a thousand people have been helped. That's wonderful. I'm sure all the jobs they're landing and apartments they're renting once they get back on their feet are in Greenville.

Here's a good article on Charleston's, too. I guess what's good for upper Meeting Street in Charleston is good for the gateway to North Main Street in Columbia, and vice versa.

You can add Charlotte to the list....there is a men's shelter on Tryon St. So, you have a men's shelter that shares the same street as two of the largest corporations in America but, this shelter in Columbia is somehow a problem. Seems if a street like Tryon with 40, 50 and 60 story buildings full of professionals along with a wide variety of restaurants can co-exist with a mens shelter, should not be a problem for Columbia, unless you are just looking for a problem.

Fever is now open at 1202 Main. Judging by their menu they are sure to complement Columbia's impressive collection of restaurants.

Renovations on the McCrory Building will start this month. It was built in 1876 and will be restored to be historically correct.

This is great news.. that building is in a prime location.. should be a nice addition if they could get a nice retail store in there.... Though I wouldnt be opposed to a restaurant.. it would be nice to get more retail if the area could support it....

The Brazilian steakhouse owner says people are coming from Sumter, Spartanburg, etc., and that the restaurant's reception has been wonderful. More retailers will soon open on or relocate to Main Street.
