Thats the point! Ironic..I wonder how many people THINK they hate the cold and snow ..head for "greener" pastures..then realize they miss what they left.

Our leaving CT actually had nothing to do with hating CT or the weather there... but had to do with needing a nice house rental very quickly...... We LOVE CT! We hated to leave. We discovered that our rental in Avon had mold and we needed to get out fast. Our lame real estate agent at the time was not showing us most of the listings we were asking about; he was either very slow, or the lock box wouldn't work, always something. We moved to NC because a friend is down here and told us that new construction (incl. rentals) is plentiful. We could not "muck around" any longer, as we have a busy, successful work at home business with extremely tight deadlines and were wasting a lot of time hoping to find a rental quickly in CT with all the specific amenities we need. Since we can live anywhere with a high speed internet connection, we went to NC because it made sense to rent the brand new house we're currently in, and it's very comfortable and was the right decision at the time. We were able to get to work again on our client's projects quickly and without skipping a beat. In this economy, that was a true blessing! It saved our business.

So don't get me wrong... I love the snow... I love CT! We plan to move back soon as we find the right rental, or if we just "cave" and buy something in the spring.

And to think this was only a little over an inch of liquid falling from the clouds. ...

Now when it rains 2 inches in the summer you'll remember what it could look like as snow.

I'm officially done shoveling.. Roads are clear but some side roads are still messy and one laners.

So far North Haven town is winning at 29.5 inches.

History was made today. This is the most snow CT has ever seen (since records have been kept) in a 24 hour period. Nice!

Alright, I'll be honest. I never fall for all of the hype surrounding snowstorms. We live in NEW ENGLAND. Our weather never surprises me. BUT THIS IS CRAZY. (NOTE THE CAPS LOCK). I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS MUCH SNOW...IN...MY...ENTIRE...LIFE. I HAD TO SHOVEL (SHOVEL!) MY CAR OUT OF AN IGLOO THIS AFTERNOON. That is all. Stay warm everyone!

I hear ya..moved to NC 4 years ago...miss CT more and more. But love the cost of living here! Such a cunundrum.. We own a house here and to sell it would be a bear anyway. Live and let live I guess. I love the spring here. March- May is great. June - September is PURE PAIN. Fall is nice..Winter great but I miss the snow.
