I've been to Austin a few times and I don't understand what all the fuss is about. Its hot, dusty and full of hipsters. The BBQ, however, is phenomenal.

Judging by Texas job growth, businessmen have a favorable view of Texas, and an unfavorable view of Malloy's version of Ct, as Ct's job growth has lagged the US during DM's tenure.

Yes. Human capital is cheaper in Texas, and to many, that's the only thing that matters.

Some business owners, however, have chosen to be in Connecticut, despite the tax and human capital environment. There are certainly advantages--

I'm certainly not anti-Austin. I'm headed down there tomorrow to visit friends.

Nobody, because everybody has exactly the same priorities and preferences as yours.

I have a family member who has lived there for 14 years...and says that the music scene is just phenomenal. Also lots of galleries, coffeehouses, restaurants, etc.

Oh, hipsters are everywhere. Have you ever been to Park Slope, Brooklyn?

We've got them in Hartford now and someof the surrounding 'burbs. I wonder how long it will be until this nonconformity they embrace becomes the norm. There was an episode of The Simpsons recently that parodied this, when a couple from Portland move to Springfield and they bring their pompous beatnik attitudes with them.

New Haven is crawling with hipsters now. Go to the Audubon area during the day, or a coffee shop like Koffee? or Green Well. Artspace. Miya's Sushi. Firehouse 12, Rudy's, 116 Crown and Ordinary at night. You'll see what I mean.

Yeah, The Spigot is like that, too. Right on Prospect Avenue on the Hartford/West Hartford line. Filled with college students. Everyone looks and appears different but at the same time it's the same vibe, if that makes sense. Park Road is starting to become like that it seems, too. Not in a bad way, but you can see it

Gov. Perry has a radio commercial on WCBS News Radio 88 this morning telling NY are they tired of taxes and regulations and they should come to TX, etc. I wonder if they're running the same commercial on CT radio stations simply substituting "Connecticut" where he says "New York".
