Well............ looks like the Beach got more than the Airport in Atlantic City. Surprised?

1.0" at ACY. 0.2" at Philly Airport.

I wish we kept official records for every area and town. That would be Euphoria! and show how much more common snow is in April.

Here's the 2"+ reports just from the NWS Philly coverage area. Will grab map tomorrow for all other areas. I saw 6-12" in parts of PA and Ohio.

Look at New England. Consider yourselves lucky today the coastal storm didn't pan out for us with cold enough air around.

Snow storm, April 9-10, 1996 - Storm Summary
While I remember the April 9, 1996 snow (that was the winter everyone in the Northeast set seasonal total records, for example, NYC ended with 75.6", also they played the Yankees home opening in the snow), I didn't remember the details your map showed. Like why right around NYC was under 1" when everyone north, south, east and west of them seems to have been buried if I read that map right?

Thanks for the Atlantic City stats. Very weird as you say that NYC mostly got rain and AC snow. Seems Baltimore/DC area had traces and of the 6 "tri state area" official weather stations, only Central Park and JFK recorded (a trace) of snow today (OKX doesn't show White Plains in climate reports, I know you mentioned they reported snow and I did see flurries in Westchester today), so at least as of 5pm NWS is saying no snow fell at Newark, LaGuardia, Islip, or BDR!

Also that 1982 stat for AC was interesting. Did a little digging as I didn't know anything about snow on April 9, 1982 and it seems that measurable mostly fell from Philly to DC and not north. For Philly that must have been interesting as 3 days earlier they were the southern end of the measurable snow from a very famous April snowstorm that even dumped 10" on NYC and more to the north......

28.7° this morning. 6th time this April in the 20s. Burning wood like it was mid winter.

Bridgeport, CT at 32°. That's 5x this month. Most # of times since 2007. Philly too, they hit freezing 3 times this month. Most since 2007.

So was the GFS that off with all the 20s in the Mid Atlantic??? Nope.

It's in the 30s to the South Carolina coast.

Yeah, sad. I started expecting a non event since Thursday... But I at least thought I'd see snow "falling" through the air. At least Greenwich did for a little.

Kinda interesting what the NAM showed 2 days before and I mentioned it too.

April 7th

Looking ahead...

No HOT days, No Snow Days. No Frigid days. We will get seasonable again so we'll see those 50s again. Don't be surprised if we get into the 60s 1 or 2 days in the next 2 weeks.

Walking home last night from Berlin into New Britain's south end...quite breezy, but didn't see or feel a single drop of rain. So happy we didn't get any snow either! Twice last week was enough for April, thank you!
