Yeah, I wish you lived in one of the houses or buildings being razed to make room for these upscale developments, so you could feel what those people, who work and pay the taxes in this city, are going through when asked to pull up stakes.

Well if they owned the property they likely were paid handsomely for it so their crying all the way to the bank. If they were renters, unfortunately they had to move. That’s the problem with renting though. You could be forced to move at any time. That’s the chance you take. Jay

The building referenced in the article had been vacant for years before they tore it down.

Gentrification is not a newly found phenomena cloaked in secrecy. It's been going on for the past couple of decades across the nation. Its not unique to Stamford.

No but a healthy economy in Stamford benefits the entire state. It helps bring in jobs and tax revenue which benefits all. Stamford long ago set itself on a course to be a major employment center and a big city. These developments are part of that. Jay
