You have to start somewhere. Jay

Yesterday, on my way to Greenwich via Route 1, I noticed that the land was cleared and some sort of digging is taking place near the Shope Rite supermarket plaza. I’ve seen the sign stating a CVS with additional retail space for other stores is going to be built there. I guess they finally started.

Update on the building on Stillwater Ave and Merrel Avenue.

So far I think this is going to be an elegant building. I'm impressed with some of the materials on parts of the facade. I definitely wasn't expecting this for the West Side.

Yes - here is the master plan for the mill river park.

Anyone have the link to the 28 Southfield Ave plans (or whatever they are calling the BLT development by the new boatyard)? They’re almost done with it. I wish they would put some shops in there and along the boardwalk.

Work has started on the Courtland Avenue (Route 106) project. It calls for widening the road between Hamilton Avenue and Route 1. That stretch of road jams up every morning, and many afternoons too, as there is an entrance to I-95 right there--plenty of truck traffic too. An adjustment has long been needed. Unfortunately it looks like they are going to virtually clear-cut Courtland Avenue of the many beautiful trees to do it--even beyond Hamilton Ave. Looks like overkill and one more step in transforming Stamford to the Bronx, the downside of all the development going on.

Here is a link to the Stamford Transportation Department website which has plans for this project and several others, including the Pulaski Bridge area discussed earlier.

It's gonna be fun navigating around that construction over the next several months.

No idea if they will fetch those amounts but these prices would have been unthinkable 10 years ago.
The thing with Southfield ave is you have that big industrial business along the water that makes you feel like you're living next to something very toxic. Same thing with the trash business across from Fairway.

Does anyone know if BLT will just buy those properties out? IMO those 2 are really preventing the area from getting to the next level, at least the waterfront stretches.
