I remember a thing from Harry Harrison's Bill the Galactic Hero. One guy got a medal and 30 days leave. He hung a 55 gallon drum filled with equal parts glucose and methyl alcohol over his bunk and hooked up an IV. Very happy GI.
Why bother with a 55 gallon drum when a single glass of methyl alcohol will blind you and probably kill you, as well?
In Major cites, esp here in NY I would agree. Fun things like puke, violence, filth, crazies etc. Its not the ride or distance, its the quality of that ride. Some smaller cities and towns I am sure have buses that are nice to use.
They may be nicer, but in nearly all places not a top 5-10 metro, buses cover a pitiful percentage of the housing areas and the employment areas and even if you're in the 10-15% that is covered, it's probably several times longer than driving.
20+ years ago I knew a man who got a ticket for drinking from a can of coke (soda, not drug) while driving. It was Washington State. So it cant be totally new stuff, right?
That sucks! One of my favorite parts about going down the Shore, is getting a 24 oz cup of Cuban blend Wawa coffee before leaving PA and crossing the bridge!
Yep. Moot point for me as well. NJ was never on my list of 'places I want to live' anyway.
Yep as a kid growing up and going to school basically on the beach was awesome for me but as soon as i graduated in 1996 i bolted. Still love the beach and boardwalk but I get more hesitant to go back as years go by. Every year that state gets worse.
