Really?! A 19 year old kid and a 72 year old? I think it's awful.

Imagine your teenage son or daughter telling you they are getting married to a 72 year old.

At 17 !!

He knows what he's doing. The "trust fund" (or its equivalent) is now one of the four most reliable ways to live "comfortably" for life. Been that way for a while now. Old woman, old man - whatever you're willing to share a bed with.

The couple had previously described how they had first noticed each other at the funeral of Almeda’s son, before meeting again at a birthday party.

Almeda said she had been struggling to cope with the death of her first husband Donald and her eldest son Robert, 45, when she met Gary, then 17.
So they were in the same social circle??
Other than that, I can't imagine why they'd each be at the same event, twice.

If I were this woman's adult child -- I'd be all over this guy -- investigating him and looking at him sideways. Heck, yeah.

Why is there such a double standard, though? Young women marry old men all the time.

At this large an age difference there would be an uproar for sure, and everybody would assume she was marrying him hoping he would die soon and she could have his money.

After reading the article I think it is legit.

I doubt she is rich. They rent an apartment and she works or use to work at a Walmart.

Here is something else that might explain why he likes much older woman.

Quote:
I’ve always had an attraction for older women and when I told my grandmother, who raised me.........
Her husband died not that long ago and she was lonely and having a hard time dealing with it.

Odd, but married for over 2 years now.

It’s too bad her son disowned her over this.

Are they lying? Is he not really 19? He looks like he's 30. Are we sure this is legit...?
