Anyway this is totally off topic now. Make sure to wear your bullet proof vest and to bring your gun if you ever go to Nola. We want to make sure everyone knows you're not from there.
You used "rate" twice in post 45, less than an hour ago. It's really not far off topic. It goes with the theme of 'Dallas-is-a-nice-place-to-live-but-I-wouldn't-want-to-visit-there'.

When discussing crime, rate is all you should care about. Of course a place with 8 million people has more absolute crime than a place with 500 people. Crime rate is what YOUR CHANCE of experiencing a crime is.

But it doesnt tell you your chance is slim unless you're in certain areas. My entire point.

The individual person and not the city determines what is boring. If a have a boring soul and personality no matter where they live on earth, they will be bored.

If a person have boring personality or soul, they can live anywhere in the world and be bored. It's all what you make, and not the city.

In certain bad areas of Nola yes, but whatever. Stay here in the land of chain restaurants and malls where you feel safe. I'm sure even Metairie would be too dangerous for you.

UGH. No one makes you live in Richardson. If culture and urban life are important to you Bishop Arts or Oak Lawn have many housing options available. Why did you CHOOSE to move to Richardson if you hate chain restaurants and malls? I mean you're willing to wait 30 minutes for microwaved food brought to you by a gal wearing buttons, but you can't drive 20 minutes to experience the city?

There is a TON to do here, just because you stopped learning how to explore a city at 18 doesn't mean we are boring. YOU are boring.

You're not going to get murdered in New Orleans anymore so than you're going to get murdered here. Anyone who believes that is ignorant and should just stay put in their homogenous suburb and lead their sheltered life.
Chicago has the highest murder rate now right behind New York city. I suggest no one visit those fine cities either unless one wants to end up in a bodybag
Sorry that just proves you don't get rates. Across populations rates are all that matters.

ETA - I don't even have to look it up.....NYC does not have a high murder rate.

Lots of cities are boring compared to New Orleans...doesn't mean you can't have fun...just need some good people around...and beer
