Even right-winger Bill O-Rielly, who is a good friend of Trump's, said last night that Megyn's question was within the boundaries of journalism. Trump is well documented on video for saying nasty things to women so that makes it a fair question because it gets at character and how a person handles people. When Hillary was asked at a debate about the women who accused Bill of abusing them, she answered it straight on without getting in a nasty Twitter war afterward. Trump is too thin-skinned to be president. He's spent his entire life surrounded by yes men and doesn't know how to deal with others he can't fire. He's a big baby when he doesn't get his own way.
You beat me to it. I just posted the same thing. Her question was quite valid if people were to actually read or listen to the ENTIRE question!
As a begrudging member of the GOP, I can assure you that the last thing I care about in vetting a Presidential candidate is what ratings he can gin up.
Has this election cycle turned into "Trump the Game" meets Reality TV?
Seems like it. My only hope is that Trump for President meets the same fate as Trump the Game, Trump Airlines, Trump Steaks, Trump Vodka, Trump Casinos, etc.
I've been struggling to understand the obsession with ratings Trump fans seem to have about the debates. Ratings are for TV reality shows. Debates aren't supposed to be about who is the biggest drawing card. They're about educating the public about how the candidates handle themselves under pressure (otherwise known as vetting the candidates). Trump fails the test when he claims he's "not getting treated fairly" and uses that as an excuse not to attend. Did Hillary claim the same when she was asked in a debate about the women who accused Bill of coming on to them? Trump can't stand the heat and he needs to get out of race.
Any guesses? BTW CSPAN, cnn, msnbc are going to carry it from my understanding.
Hmm, all the Obama approved networks! Carson defended Trump, but that could just be that Carson had just woken up and didn't really understand the question.

Actually, Trump is the least charitable billionaire in the entire world. That's nothing to crow about so it's no wonder he keeps his mouth shut about his poor record of giving.

well stated - I've had the same question regarding boasting about high ratings......

I am right there with you. I don't get the mentality of his supporters. It seems more like a popularity contest to them rather than the opportunity to question and properly vet the future leader of the country.
I guess in this day and age of American Idol and Housewives of Atlanta, that people think that their vote should go to the most divisive character that bullies and demeans all the others.

very good assessment - it's almost as if the ratings are the equiv to the Idol votes.

That seems to be the trend, does it, and that will be very sad and dangerous if the trend holds into the general election.
If I were Donald I wouldn't bother doing debates as well.
Debates in this election cycle have been the least fruitful and most useless debates of all time
Utter nonsense and all networks are doing is throwing buzzwords around
There is no need for debates
Just get to election cycle.
Everyone knows positions of candidates on everything.
And i'm not saying this for just GOP debates.
Dem debates have been terrible as well.
