This whole thing is a tempest in a teapot. Really...
But what it does is illustrate the almost total lack of substance in the Pub convention so far. This so-called plagiarism is THE big highlight. And it's small potatoes.
So far, besides Melania and his kids, the Pub convention speakers have almost ignored Drumpf. They don't like the fact that he's their nominee. It really shows.
And he isn't exactly in love with the GOP. He shows up Monday to say about five words. He isn't even there yesterday to receive the nomination. He phones it in from New York. When's the last time that happened?
Instead, they spend their speaking time whining about Hillary.
Don't know if someone posted this yet, but isn't the criticism of Melania somewhat hypocritical?

I don't put this blunder completely on the current Mrs. Trump, even if she "wrote" the speech herself. The campaign - well, any responsible campaign - has an obligation to vet (i.e., to check carefully to make sure it is acceptable) all speeches made by their candidate, their candidate's family, and anyone else whose words could reflect badly on the candidate.
Fact is, this speech DOES reflect badly on the campaign.
It's not that difficult to find a speech that really says what you want to say, and then spend a little time re-wording the speech to make it your own. People do it all the time. Hey, there are only so many words in the English language, right?
But the words weren't changed, or weren't changed nearly enough. To me, that's being either lazy or arrogant.

She's the star of the Republican Convention.
Actually the start is Melania whose photo is everywhere, as she is maligned by the media. It's cute and it works.
Both Trump and Clinton are doing everything they can to keep their mugs of the front page. People hate them and everytime they see them they want to vote for the other party.
Thanks for the link. And no, most politicians (and family members) are too busy and not good enough to write their own speeches.
For example, from your link:
Quote:
After Donald Trump, Jr.’s speech Tuesday night at the RNC, the Daily Show tweeted two pictures comparing a section in his speech to an article written by law professor F. H. Buckley in the magazine The American Conservative.
Buckley, a professor at George Mason University, subsequently told Vox that he was a principal speechwriter for Trump, Jr.’s speech.
If the same person wrote the two speeches, it's not plagiarism. And if Sarah Hurwitz had written the current Mrs. Trump's speech, that too would not be plagiarism.
This thread is still going on.... "your speech writer stole my speech writers 5 lines".. LOL
No, it's probably more about the campaign infrastructure issues.
But, I agree, who cares. If anything, finding out why her bio contains a misstatement that she has a degree from college when she was in fact a freshman dropout, is more pertinent. . . . since the spouses of the candidates are awfully pertinent this year.
