I haven't seen any reports of Obama supporters shouting "traitor" terrorist" or "kill him".

Obviously there's anger on the Obama side, but I haven't seen it personalized against McCain. The anger is more generalized against the GOP and the way Bush/Cheney have mismanaged things so badly and been so deceitful and dismissive of dissent in the process. "You're either with us or you're with the terrorists" is even their approach to domestic issues. I'm angry about it, too. Angry enough to have voted Democratic for the first time in my life. Angry enough at the way the GOP has morphed into an ugly caricature of its worst elements that I won't even consider voting for a Republican candidate at any level until the GOP has severed its ties with the religious right.

I doubt that I'm anywhere near alone in this sentiment.

The Republican Party has a hard lesson to learn from this election. At this point it certainly doesn't appear that they're "getting it".

Your views are not only wrong, but they came from the mccain smears. You should learn to think for yourself by listening to all sides of the issue. You have been listening to that air head Palin too much. You should learn to think of her as a joke. Even she said she won't be ready to be president for another 8 years, but she doesn't realize that it will never happen. But then I should not say never because there are a lot of non-thinkers that will vote for her and her ideas.

Make up your mind. I say he wins overwhelmingly. Then come back on Wednesday and we'll compare notes.

I am coming from a very different place than most regarding Obama, having had dealings with him while he was in the Illinois Senate. I had to abandon my party this election cycle and will be voting for John McCain because he is better qualified to lead the nation, in every way. I always vote for the top of the ticket, my vote is for McCain. (I can hardly remember the vice presidential candidates names from past elections, Sarah Palin is not an issue for me. I believe she is less articulate, but better qualified than Obama.)
Obama is a speaker. That's it, a speaker. Nothing more. He is an opportunist who has done and said whatever he thought might advance his political career - right down to the neighborhood he lives in and the church he joined. If you think he actually cares about anything more than his own self-serving interests, you are delusional.
As a person who has watched his political career from the start, it is astonishing to me that anyone would believe his BS and buy into his ideas.
IMHO, had John McCain not chosen Sarah Palin, he would be up 10 points in the polls.

I think he'd still be behind. Palin isn't motivating that many people to vote against McCain. The mood of the country is strongly anti-GOP due to Bush and Cheney, not Palin. She certainly isn't helping, though.

It is more honarable to be raised to a position of office than born into it. Somthing like that. Anyway, people seem to be jumping to conclusions when it comes to our current president. It took eight years for the Bush administation to defile our country and look at us now, using Obama as a scape goat for what we put ouselves into. You think Bush and his cronies are worried about our current situation, they're laughing all the way to the bank with the American taxpayers money. They could care less. In fact. it is my firm opinnion, they never did care. All they wanted was noteriety and to bolster there bank accounts. And to all you hardlined republicans out there, you think anybody cares what you think or how much money you have? I know republicans who voted for Obama. If greed wasn't your primary facilitator what was? You think your patriotic? A patriot is someone who serves thier country not one who serves there own self interests. Quit being obstuctionists. Be a team player.
