From Yulia. Belarussians say there are around 2000 at the border. A few hundred more at other points and some are sheltering with Belarussians in their homes in the border areas. Mainly women and kids. The police are not stopping them but want to keep track of them.
Belarussian aid groups are there in force and apparently they're not taking any guff from the authorities. The priests from churches all over Belarus are getting involved.
Total seems to be about 2000 to 3000.
There's a lot going on in Belarus we don't hear about on a local level. Belarussians are some great people.
Why don't the migrants / refugees just stay in Belarus? Seems like the best choice at this point. Belarus authorities let them into the country on a one-way ticket with no guarantee of passage into a neighboring country, so it's up to Belarus authorities to take care of the people now. Problem solved.
Why should "world opinion" be used to guilt people into taking in illiterate people with no ability to contribute to their home countries? I'm sorry, the West can't absorb billions of people.

The BOC (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belaru...rthodox_Church) is making arrangements to house some of these "refugees" temporarily at least and there are some other charities in Poland and Russia involved. Very vague as to what is going on in Belarus specifically but my exes cousin is part of one of the organizations.

Who are the Belarussians to stop people from traveling through the country lawfully? By international law and Belorussian law if you have a transit VISA through Belarus it has to be respected/honored so long as you are not a criminal wanted by Interpol or some such.
Poland is the country stopping them from proceeding to Germany. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Look at the history of this whole thing too. Your answer is there.
I would ask you why the Belorussians still allow Yamal gas to flow to Europe across their land to countries that if given the means and and a free hand kill millions of them.

But they sure like to advertise such things don't they? The West is paradise!!!!

You need to look into the history of this mess.
Did Poland issue them transit visas?
