So far I am minus 23 pounds since March 2020. Im trying to lose the final 35 lbs to go and get skin removal surgeries. Ive lost 212 lbs and kept all but that 35 pounds off by daily walking of 10,000 steps. That 35 snuck back on after back fusion surgery. The Pandemic and a cold winter in NC really stopped my indoor mall walking in August. The only DMV in our area is located inside the mall and they require people stand in a long line outside their office.
I get my 2nd COVID vax injection on March 13th so after that I won't be as concerned. I will still be wearing~waiting~washing til more get vax'd.
Weight can change its distribution, especially with exercise, or lack thereof.

Most people don't gain as much weight staying indoors as in the past when they go to work and ate all kinds of fast food. Eating home made meals is much more healthier than going to work and ordering fast food for lunch and spending hours in traffic which is very stressful to the body. Even if you stayed home and ate lots of food and not exercise. The weight gain is not as drastic as eating fast food a lot. I don't care if you made burgers or mac and cheese at home. It's a lot healthier than fast food.
Well, some of us are so poor we had to "brown-bag" it from home when we were working. But I suppose that theory would hold for other people! I definitely had coworkers who either ate out or got delivery/take-out 3x/day while working (but they also tend to get take-out or delivery at home during the pandemic, as well).

Much (most?) of my diet was sit-down meals at restaurants. When restaurants closed, the replacement was carry-out fast-food.
Much (most?) of my fitness was at the local gym: weight lifting odd days, running around the track on even-days. With closure of the gym, effects were devastating. Not only was access lost to the equipment, but I felt deeply personally jilted and "dissed" by the very principle of the lockdown. Finally it is becoming possible to build a "home gym", and this ought - one hopes! - to help.
Formerly I had a heavy travel schedule, and would do exercises in the hotel gym. Curtailment of travel meant a breaking of my routine, "home" being an ill-equipped and tawdry place.
Result: strength has fallen and weight has increased. I've aged in the past year, more than in the prior 10.
