I found some pieces of garlic pork and some mashed potatoes in the fridge so I have them heating in the oven as a kind of shepherds pie.....smells good.

CoastalMaine - that is one of my most fav party dips (of course I don't use the Jalapenos since I am a BIG wimp)- also a clam dip I make. It is so easy and actually one of the most preferred at any gathering. I also have another one that is a vidalia onion dip that goes over really well!

I love heavy hors dourves!

Oh, do post a picture! That sounds great...something that would go over very well at my house. We're having left over bbq'd ribs that I froze after Christmas.

Finally arrived at a decision for supper: fish tacos. Not too sure what, if any, sides we'll add.

I found some T-bones and a ribeye marked down, so tonight we had them with garlic mashed potatoes and corn on the cob.

The bones joined some others I'd saved and now they're bubbling in the soup pot.

Goodness me - there is a real sense of cost-cutting, cost-saving and general carefulness in this thread lately, but you all still seem to be producing wonderful food! You lot are incredible!

Tonight we had twice baked potatoes (at last I found they have a name after making them for ump-teen years!) with ham and cheddar - except me who had them plain w/cottage cheese and pineapple (yum) as I'm trying to be post-holiday good

Kelsie - please may I have my scallops fried with black pudding?

BTW thanks all for your good wishes for my impending move and the nightmare caused by our UK agents messing up our house rental - but could you please all wish a teensy bit harder as it is still a HUGE mess!!! thanks
