What type of red sauce? I usually make my SS with a tomato gravy, and actually prefer it over the traditional brown.

I don't think the sauce was really bad it's just not what we are use to. It was basically a tomatoe sauce. And that is just what it tasted like--tomatoe sauce! I guess I missed putting something in it because it wasn't savory just tomatoeeee.

Sometimes I believe the theory we know everything when we're born and graduaklly lose it along the way, I certainly find more confusion now than I did when a bowl of Cheerios eaten while wearing PJs and watching cartoons could solve just about anything.

Your corn chowder topped with crab didn't confuse me at all, looked delicious! I have some canned canned corn chowder, gonna have to look around later for dress-up (Poblano?, shrimp?, crab?) ingredient(s).

Good morning all.

Nomad- You and your family are in our thoughts.

MBW- Thank you for sharing your amazing story.

jdhall- I love veggie burritos. I might have to make that this week. Thanks.

sd- At least that fudgie/rice krispie treats didn't go to waste.

dxi- I hope you are getting some of your mother's recipes. How does she make the plantains? I used to like them smashed down and fried.

amber- You naughty girl, lol. Post that recipe anytime. It looked delicious.

cyn- You are doing fantastic. Sorry about your dinner. We all have meals like that. At least we know "what not to make." That is the un recipe file.

Dinner for my DH will be little mini smokies wrapped in crescent rolls and beans. I am having a bowl of homemade soup. I have to make up for yesterday's bad eating.

If I were going to make SS with a tomato sauce I would probably make something very much like swiss steak by cooking up some celery, green pepper, onion (the holy trinity of the kitchen) and some garlic and lots of black pepper and adding some crushed tomato (I did find those San ???? tomatoes you all talked about....I would try those out)
