We had a turkey roast with gravy, dressing and onion rings. Sweet Tea. Creme cake with berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries) poured over and whipped cream to top it off. Not to bad. DH really enjoyed it.
Mac n cheese w/diced ham, peas (hadn't had them in a while) and sliced tomatoes with light vinegar and heavy basil. Tomato and basil - one of nature's happy combinations.
Hope everyone's week picks up with better health, wealth and goodwill!
My goodness! This sure has turned into one chatty, happy dinner table full of foodie friends!! It is fun! The best part is cooking is not nearly as boring as it use to be for me. So many here enjoy cooking so much and really have wonderful ideas that I can't help but get excited!!
Not sure about tonights dinner yet--but will post it a bit later. Have a wonderful Monday everyone!!
66 days no smoking!!
Congratulations, Cyn! Look at that, now you can describe your "I haven't smoked in ________" in terms of months!! I am so very glad for your sake, and for the sakes of all who love you, that you are taking such good care of yourself. Think about attending Amber's baby's high school graduation, or watching that newest granddaughter go off to her senior prom, and think of how robust and strong and healthy you'll still be then - it's worth every moment of nicotine craving you can resist to get there.
Not sure what supper will be tonight; spouse has his class, so he'll be gone before I get home, and I may just make a stop by my favorite little Chinese restaurant on the way back across town tonight. We'll see what the day brings.
Well done Cynwldkat by the way ! I am lucky that I never smoked but I know how hard it is to get off cigarettes. My stepmother used to smoke 2 packs of unfiltered ones and did so for over 40 years and she has now stopped for almost 10 years !
Think of those lovely functioning lungs taking in all that lovely air... Try to treat yourself with some yummy foods as a big reward for each week that passes. Good Food is a much better "sin" to have than smoking !
I'm making Beef Stroganoff this evening, I am trying a new recipe so we'll see what that turns out like...
Congrats Cyn.... that is AWESOME! So very proud of you.... I know how tough it is as I have watched my father struggle with this many times.... YOU GO GIRL!!!! It isn't easy but know with every day down the road to gets shorter Good Work!!!!! And good health to you
Congrats Cyn on no smoking. You are doing great. How are the cravings? Are they gone?
We are snowed in and I am low on eggs and bread. I would make bread later but with our diets I'm not sure it would be a good idea. Fresh hot bread and diets don't mix, lol.
Baked Chicken Legs for my DH. I have no idea what I am having. Does anyone know what to do with Polenta? I have some in the fridge.
