It will be just the two of us for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so the traditional prime rib will wait for the family to come between Christmas and New Years.
I think we will try to embrace the 7 fishes theme for Christmas Eve, with some kind of fish with crab stuffing, and a bunch of fish hors d' oeuvres. We'll have ham, pineapple casserole, twice baked potato, salad and a green veg for Christmas Day. Mince Pie for dessert.

I am cooking for 10 on Christmas Eve -- we are having prime rib, mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, corn, tortellini with vodka sauce, tossed salad and rolls and a strawberry cream cake. The next day we go to my sister's house and she is having a whole roasted filet mignon, lasagna, broccoli salad, ambrosia, garlic bread, lemon ricotta cheesecake and homemade chocolate cake. Lots of good wine both nights!!

Christmas Eve/Day were not highly celebrated within my immediate family and therefore the food was never a big affair compared to Thanksgiving. There isn't much time to prep for a big meal this year so likely the plans are dining out (or take-out).

It's nice to read all the interesting menus others will indulge in during the festive period.

I'll be at my mother's house for tonight's meal. On the table will be beef tenderloin, scalloped potatoes, creamed spinach, rolls, apple cake with caramel sauce, iced tea, and coffee.

Bon appetit, everybody!
