Alm, This is not an "Old Word" or a family recipe. But, I do like it. It may not be up to your gourmet standards - but here goes-

Waiting for an order of Chinese. Visiting the kids and the new grandchild. A person could starve to death without carryout here. We love them, but we’re used to eating before 9 pm, normally.

Last night I put a huge (2"+ thickness) piece of fresh Cod in the Sous Vide with a few lemon slices, some butter and fresh dill.
Topped it with a wild mushroom, artichoke heart and Olive Confit
Served with herbed potatoes and a salad.

Simple, but so good.

And the best part of cooking with Sous Vide (other than the food itself) is that clean-up starts with a pot of hot, clean water. Dump it on the other dishes, squirt some soap and you're on your way.

Tonight onion and tomato omelette served with red radish salad and sheena's beer bread (recipe) topped with dill butter. To drink lemon water. For dessert 1/2 a pink grapefruit.

something we seldom do, probably not more than once a year. We are picking it up and bringing it home. here we go, spoiled brat loves Popeye Chicken and it has been about 5 years since we have had it. I think it was in Toronto and the price was about twice what it is here, but that isn't what this thread is about.

We have a busy day, leaving here in about 15 minutes and won't be back until about 3pm. We are going to skip lunch and eat our Popeye's early for dinner, while watching TV. I think the last time we stopped for fast food and brought it home was probably a year or more ago. I can't even remember what it was. When we do something like this, it is usually frozen pizza and then very rarely. I am kinda excited. If for no other reason, I won't have to clean up the kitchen.
