Today I will make a large batch of red sauce. I will let it simmer on the stove for a few hours. My husband will make a large batch of meatballs. For dinner I will serve them with some form of pasta. We will freeze the leftovers in small batchs for easy meals.

Happy Thursday everyone!!

Tonight mushroom sauce with bread dumplings and Vidalia onion/tomato/curly parsley salad. For dessert by the fireplace Linzer squares and a glass or two of red mulled wine.

Beef polska keilbasa, fried saurkraut, fried or mashed potatoes, and uncoventionally - cornbread! It's cold here - unconventionally, and I just feel like some comforting cornbread. So there!

Crockpot sauerbraten with potato dumplings, grated carrot, radish and cucumber salad (three separate piles on a small plate, no dressing), and maybe something else.

Angel food cake, no icing, for dessert.

Just finished leafing through Moosewood's Restaurant Table for ideas. Plan to make a Persian kuku egg dish and a mushroom barley salad, though I may substitute farro for the barley. And some slaw.

we are having Chinese food. Usually I do my own egg rolls but I used all we had for a Bridge party we had yesterday and I wan't even at the party. So today will be frozen, packaged pot stickers. OK, so it isn't very good for us, but they are super good. We keep them on hand: get the ones we like from Sam's

We will also have fried rice, with chicken pieces, snow peas and mushrooms and a little bok choy that we need to use up.

I am roasting tomatoes for tomato and basil soup and mr cdarocks is making grilled cheese with a rustic loaf and a blend of three cheeses, of which I am not sure what he choose besides fontina. He and the little one and whichever other kids are home will eat this. I am going to my book club then meeting a friend for dinner at a gastropub and have no idea what I shall indulge in. Stay warm!

I'm making orecchiette with chickpeas, olives, and arugula for dinner. It's such an easy and satisfying pasta dish. Just right for a busy night.
