Here in Pittsburgh, PA I see a lot of plates from Ohio, West Virginia, New York, Virginia, and Maryland. I also see a decent amount of plates from Illinois, Ontario, Florida, and New Jersey.

Don't forget that you see a lot more cars from southern states than you think, but most do not have plates on the front, so you are less likely to notice them.

where in nyc do you live? because in my whole life here i have only seen 3 cars with california plates.

i have seen ohio a few number of times as well but not often to put it on a top 10 list. Unless your mostly in upstate?

In Boston you see a ton of Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York, Connecticut and New Jersey plates. Lately I have been seeing a large number of Ohio plates and a good number of California plates.
