I wonder if Ingles will expand into the old Big Lots and Dollar General spaces, they still own that shopping center.
It's been reported in this very thread that a new Ingles is in our future. I haven't seen an official announcement if one exists!
Dollar General Mauldin's Grand Opening is 2-11; got a $5 off $20 coupon in the mail today. If you don't want yours I'll be happy to take it off your hands!
Ingles relocated their Travelers Rest store to the other side of town. Are you saying they are going to build a new store at State Park Rd and Hwy 25? Seems logical since the new store is a good distance from the old one. Also, very strange Ingles has never built in Greenwood since they have locations in Laurens and Abbeville.
Ingle's store #206, Geer Highway, was an additional store that opened in 1996 to serve customers in Marietta, Slater and beyond.
Ingle's store #40, State Park Road, closed in 2001. Ingle's has intentions to build a new store in its place. The demise of Emtex and the future of its site for retail changed things. Ingle's is looking to build an 80,000+ square foot store.
Ingle's did have a store in Saluda, specifically on US-178 coming in from Greenwood. The old stone facade is still up.

Time flies. Its been 11 years since that TR Ingles closed. They certainly aren't in a hurry to replace it. Could be another 10 years. I wish they would get that Emtex eyesore developed. I wonder with all the video rental places closing if Ingles will keep their video rental business. Ingles store layouts remind me of Kroger stores I shopped in Tennessee.

Wow, a lot of popular Ryan's closing is bad.
There is another Ryan's in Anderson, the Highway 28 Bypass., and also in Greenwood.
