I approached QT about 18 months ago about this area and was told there are not enough rooftops for them to consider buying land and building a station. So, I am guessing it has to be a very busy intersection for them to consider it.

I wonder if QuikTrip made the same point when considering a location at Interstate 385 and South Carolina Highway 417.
We live in River Shoals, am I crazy to think that a QT or Starbucks would be perfect on that corner lot across from BP off West Georgia?! Im talking about the corner lot with the run down shack looking house with all the bamboo grown up across the BP. Starbucks or even a QT would do mad business there with the yuppies that live in the affuent neighborhoods on West Georgia.
I don't see QT building at that particular intersection, but further up at I-385 would be a good choice. Anyway, The Walmart will have a gas station, along with the BP/Spinx, will probably be enough for now.
That would be a good addition for the area. Keep us posted.
A while back there was talk that someone had spoken with a contractor who was responding to a bid for a restaurant at the same intersection. Anything more ever come of that?
A neighbor spoke of a rumor that a Walgreen's is eyeing the land directly across Walmart - Standing Springs and W. Georgia.

I have not see a new Walgreen's store across the upstate in four years. The chain announced in April 200 stores nationwide would be closing, and has acquired Alliance Boots.

I don't see a big need right there with CVS just up the road the the Neighborhood Market having a pharmacy. Like the other poster mentioned, a casual dining restaurant would be nice.
I know the owner of that property on a personal level. No nibbles yet.
