Oh man! I completely forgot about that. It wasn't really my favorite place for drinks, but I enjoyed sitting in there with friends and listening to music when it was there. Oh well.
I bumped into this tread while goofing around with the City Data site. I had been researching NC and decided, for the heck of it, to check of SC. NC, even after a visit in April, just didn't click (Raleigh/Durham area) I am just blown away by these pictures!! I am so impressed by the beauty of this city! And, the more I read of all of your postings, the more I believe I have found where I would LOVE to live! We like quiet rural (or at least not postage stamp lots) living, with the convience of shopping nearby and all that downtown has to offer within a reasonable distance. I can't help but wonder if your beautiful area is too good to be true! I am trying to get a feel for the surrounding towns, and which would be in line with our love of more space/land, but taking into account the necessity of commuting to where ever the job market is. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks so much for these beautiful pictures!! They give me such a certain feeling that I have found "home"!
Hi all! I was wondering if any of you fantastic photographers are or will be in the Simpsonville area and willing to take a pic or two of my home that is currently being built. Unfortunately, I am not moving down from Boston for a few more months. If any of you are able and would be so kind, let me know and I will give you the address.
Thx!
In the second picture from the bottom, what building is that?
Thanks!
Hi DCgirl2SC!
I am not exactly sure which photo you are refering to, so I'll take a wild guess with two possibilities:
This is The Davenport, a nice old apartment building at the corner of East Washington Street and Church Street.
This photo includes First Presbyterian Church in the bottom right, First Citizens Bank in the upper right, The Greenville Summit in the left-center, and Downtown Baptist Church in the upper left.
Here is an enhanced photo from the Port City Java in Wachovia Place. Out the window, you can see part of the courtyard plaza, which is completely surrounded by buildings. It is a somewhat "hidden" oasis for those who like to get "off the beaten path" without leaving the center of the city. Of the many downtown coffee shops, this is my personal favorite overall, though others have different unique appeal not found at this one.
