5pm update.. NHC shifted the cone over Florida now and the storm center closer. State of emergency issued in Florida I believe.

Any consensus how bad it will be when it hits the states? It's trending on twitter and there are lots of cool videos of the clouds and such.

Still trying to pin down track but looks to remain Cat 3+ getting to Florida's latitude so we'll see if it shifts west to hit them or how much it weakens up to Carolinas.

Right now he is flexing his muscles and basically again in Beast mode and strengthening. I think new recon found winds over 140mph now. Pray for Haiti might start trending.

Next NHC update is 8pm

Anyone got a good terrain or population map of Haiti?

The way things are going there will be noone left in Haiti for the hurricane, seems like half the island already moved to Chile Más de 41.000 haitianos han llegado a Chile entre 2013 y 2016 - Nacional - 24horas I bet in a couple of years there will be more Haitians here than actual Chileans

I hope the damage will be minimal, this is a monster hurricane. For the Carolinas this must bring shades of Hugo, back in the late 80s
