Quote:
TUCSON, Arizona – Thirteen members of a group trying to prevent deaths among undocumented migrants were fined for leaving gallons of water inside the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge, which lies in southern Arizona on the border with Mexico.
Quote:
From the time they arrived at the refuge, the volunteers were shadowed by agents of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Forest Service, according to a press release from No More Deaths.

Federal officials confiscated all the water the volunteers placed at four strategic points between the town of Arivaca and Interstate Highway 286.

“They followed us every step of the way, grabbing the water that we left there,” Maryada Vallet, a volunteer paramedic with No More Deaths, said.
Latin American Herald Tribune - Volunteers Fined for Leaving Water on Migrant Routes in Arizona

Hmm, perhaps instead of wasting money by littering all over the desert that money could instead go towards assisting the poor Mexicans and Central Americans in order to encourage them to remain in their homelands as opposing to giving them incentives to head northward illegally?

Anyway, I salute the federal officials for giving those dimwits their just desserts.

Among the volunteers fined for littering were two Protestant ministers and a Catholic priest.

The humanitarian group told the refuge administation on Wednesday of its intention to leave water in the region frequently used by illegal aliens trying to cross into the country and where another migrant was found dead this week.
Good for them, facing a fine is nothing compared to saving a human life. Seems like they are just doing their jobs as ministers of God.

And instead of giving incentives to illegals to enter the US couldn't that money go towards, perhaps, improving the infrastructures of poor Mexican and Central American cities and towns where there have been exoduses of people trying to enter the US illegally?

Incentives? I doubt that leaving a bottle of water in the desert is going to be much incentive for people to come into the U.S illegally. Taking the water away won't do much to deter those who are going to cross the border illegally.

Btw, do you know how much money they spent on water for these people? Thanks.

Would you rather people die?
Because someone is not anti-illegal immigration; does it make them pro-illegal immigration?
Or just a good, person, possibly christian?

Why can't the money that is spent on water, buying water containers, and transportation be used instead to improve the infrastructure of the towns and cities where the illegals came from? Doing that would not only encourage the illegals to stay but encourage them to have the will to improve their lives and residence and maybe assist others instead of fleeing from all of it.

Placing water bottles out in the desert is not only a crime but it also sends out the message that the illegals may be able to survive physically because someone is going to assist when entering illegally.

If these religious dimwits have the money and effort to transport and litter water containers in the desert why can't they divert that effort and money to directly assist the towns and cities where the illegals come from?

Only racist Anglo nazis are in favor of improving the infrastructure of Mexico and Central America so that the people living in these countries do not feel the need to illegally immigrate to the U.S in search for a better life.

Priceless!

Talk about a poor example of a 'racist Anglo Nazi'---------one who is willing to help a group of Mestizos fix up their nation

Frankly; it would be a hell of a lot more humane to close/lock our southern border and issue 'shoot to kill' orders to the BP.

Funny how its never a option to make economic improvements at home its always how can we make it easier for immigrants to immigrate to America.
