Illinois people just drive faster, and more aggresively. The Bears-Packers rivalry seperates IL and WI, and even some parts of IA. I wouldnt doubt that there are Bears fans in WI and Packers fans in IL. I think the dispute is dramaticized into something that it is not. And you Illinois people who think that Wisconsin is the "less sophisticated neighbor," just because Milwaukee is falling apart doesnt really mean anything. There is so much to do in Wisconsin, and quite frankly, it is more beautiful than Illinois.

Illinois has it's strong points to, but you should use your differences to co-exist peacefully.

Coming from and Iowan, who has seen a little of the ILWI rivalry

-peace

Well, I take back that WI is prettier than IL. Many areas of Wi. are prettier than Il.

NW IL is beautiful as is S. IL. South IL and North IL. dont even seem like the same state.

Most of WI is beautiful, from Lake Superior to Platteville.

Do you feel like youre ever segregated and frowned upon while entering Wisconsin, just based on your plates?

Have any of you received tickets from WI troopers/police that you feel were unjust? Do you feel you were singled out? If so, explain.

Why do you feel they (not all of them of course) dislike us?
Awfully vague generalized statement. Just like in sports, there are good and bad fan in every city, same with people. Many Chicagoans live in Milwaukee and rest of WI and vice versa and do just fine.

Perhaps it is an individual person that has a problem?

Wisconsin is prettier, but the people drive like cows (but nowhere near as bad as Ohio). You can go to Culver Burger in both states, but Wisconsin of course has more locations. Governors Blagojevich and Doyle are both creepy, but Blagojevich is more corrupt, whereas Doyle is just more of a jerk.
Which state has the most burnt-out industrial ghettos? Illinois has quite a few, whereas I think only inner city Milwaukee and perhaps Kenosha/Racine qualify here. Madison beats out Champaign or Springfield, and Milwaukee is underrated, but Wisconsin lacks Chicago (bad), but also forgoes Chicagoland sprawl.
Wisconsin has more lakeshore.

It's a toss-up, except for lakes n trees.

After growing up 45 minutes outside of Chicago and having friends/family from WI....

I can safely say that both states suck.

It's funny...we try so hard to improve our local economy but yet when people choose to move into our home towns we treat them as if they do not belong.
So sad...everyone just needs to welcome those who invest in their community no matter where they are from.

Interesting post. I have a friend that lives in Barrington that constantly gives one of our other friends a hard time about being a cheese head.

I dont think so, amigo. LOTS of Illinoisans and cheeseheads alike have had many problems. The idea for this thread was based on one on the WI boards, asking why cheeseheads dislike Illinoisans. If you only knew what they call us...

For what its worth - please don't think that WI are the only ones or the only place with these same thoughts...
