sounds like louisville could get spared from the snow and the severe ice...we'll be somewhere in between. at least that was the last word i heard...time will tell.
Down in our area (western Ky.) looks like we'll get more ice than snow. Glad I'm retired from the state highway department. I think some parts of the state contract the snow and ice work out. We do our own snow and ice work in this part of Kentucky. But, after 26 years of it, I get to stay home and prop my feet up and stay warm! lol
i found a great site to go to, go to WAVE 3 TV Louisville, KY | Home and scroll down to Belski's Blog. John Belski talks about what the winter storm is going to be like, it is very useful information. Right now, he says there could be over a foot of snow in Louisville if everything shapes up.

Here is the current updated Winter Storm Warning summary
Southern Indiana - 9 inches of snow
Central Kentucky - 6 inches of snow, some sleet or ice possible Wed.
Southern Kentucky - 5 inches of snow, significant icing possible Wed.
Heaviest snowfall is predicted from 7 pm tonight to 7 pm Tuesday evening. Blowing snow could greatly reduce visibility during those times.
We're expecting a lot of snow and ice here, I moved the truck to the barn and loaded up the garage with firewood, gas up the generator, ordered propane (needed that anyway) and stocked the fridge with needed to to be done anyway. Put the animals in the barns and the outside pets with plenty of food and water in a heated bowl.
If we get ice I'll lose porwer for a few day but I can run on a generator as needed. So I'll charging all the game systems for the kids, all the cell phones, and rechargeable batteries and anything else that needs charging.
We get more ice storms here than snow and after living through a few of them you know to be ready. We'll either be hammered or get nothing at all, just depends on where it crosses the river.
