Colin Cowherd, "The Herd" of ESPN TV & radio announced this morning that the National Football League will definitely begin playing pro ball in Los Angeles in 2 years! For anyone who listens to sports radio or TV knows that "The Herd" speaks from experience and knowledge. Colin announced that the owner of Staples Center and various business and governmental representatives along with the NFL are committed to this time table. Yea!!

of course I hope it is true, but I agree with you. First of all, they have to decide where to build the stadium (not just possible places) and then they had better get started asap...Then are we talking about moving a team or are we talking new team?

LA has lost every team they have had, that's 3 fricken teams, they really shouldn't get another one unless it's their own.

If L.A. gets an NFL team, what should be its name?

Several teams continue to be discussed as possibilities for Los Angeles. Cowherd mentioned San Diego since it may not be able to satisfy the Charger owners who want a new stadium and better revenue. But The Herd pointed out that the NFL sees a huge market in southern California and may want the Chargers to stay put while adding another team for LA. The Jacksonville Jaguars are considered highly susceptible for a relocation due to poor ticket sales and an apathetic fan base.

But 2 years isn't very long to build a stadium or renovate the Coliseum. Once the decision is made where the NFL will play then a team will be picked or created.

Almost the same reasons (besides luxury boxes) the other LA teams left in the first place.
