I hope we don't get that snow.

However, the first snowflakes are now falling.( central MN )
Haven't seen a snowflake fall the entire month of March or April.

Still clinging to 42° in the Twin Cities. Hoping for no snow, but the forecast calls for an inch of accumulation!

Go right ahead and snow as much as it could up there. We don't want any down here in the Cities for sure .

I can't imagine there will be a decent summer in MN this year. More or less like last summer when it was always windy, cloudy and rainy pretty much every other few days, and every other weekend. This year my prediction is that it might even worse because of all the accumulations that we did not get in the entire month of March. Those accumulations are still up there and have to come down some how, rainy days during dry season. Yuck! Time for overgrown lawn, and giant mosquitoes.

Actually, El Nino effects on Minnesota winters tend towards less snowfall. Obviously, no snowfall in March was unusual anyway, but the less-than-normal snowfall for the season correlates with what is usual during an El Nino cycle. Since the cycle has minimal effects on upper Midwestern summers, there should be no further effects on our weather related to the lack of snowfall in March/April.

Sometimes the Twin Cities just gets snow in May.

This is just bs, I dont care what you all say. Snow in May is embarrassing. That's why I live here and put up with December, January, February and March. Not to deal with this garbage in May. But, in the land of 100,000 swedes, all you'll hear is "That's what you get for Minnesota! hahaha" > No, it's not funny, it's not anecdotal, it's a pathetic joke.

Blame Canada.

I love seeing 83 degrees April 1st and getting 5 inches of snow in May. So cool!

At least, in our newspaper everyday, they list the all-time high's and low's ever recorded on that particular day, and what year they occurred.

Weatherunderground.com will also tell you what high's and low's have occured in your city for as many as 25-30 years, and how late it snowed in any particular year.

Thank God MN doesn't have huge altitude differences like out here. I was up in northern Nevada in late May one time, at a city with 7000 feet in altitude, and I woke up to a foot of snow on the ground.

What sucks the worst is that the Twins game was canceled. Who needs a stinking roof anyway?
