Yesterday, we were going to see just how far the road paving project was progressing. We decided to turn around before arriving at Aleman Draw, because we didn't want to hinder their efforts.

I talked to a New Mexico Highway Department worker, who said they were behind schedule due to Federal Government Beaurocracy.

Anyway, we thought we'd disturbed these workers enough and made the trek back to Engle.

Our nice outing was followed by a beautiful sunset.

We live for days like these.

We need someone in Timberon that can do that.
I figured anyone could as there are people here that would volunteer but they gotta be licensed.

Yes, one must have a CDL to operate.

Since I probably could not pass a CDL test due to physical limitations, this would exclude me.

I'm sure someone around there could get a CDL, but then they'd have to be trained how to do it.

Operating heavy equipment isn't for everyone. Not everyone can do it. Driving an 18 wheeler couldn't qualify someone to run a loader or grader. It does take many weeks of training.

When I was stationed at scott afb, we had a blizzard in 1978-79, and there was this one operator who was assigned road grader day, after day, after day. He finally became fed up, took the road grader over to the headquarters command building and ran over about 7 or 8 cars with it. Lots of damage done, including his career in the AF. He was toast.

Yes, we could say that.

In Alaska, at eielson, we had a guy take down 52 runway lights with a sicard airblast runway sweeper.

His last name was pitts, he was a sergeant.

After his episode, he was airman pitts, and serving burgers at the inflight kitchen. We teased him by asking him for pittsburgers.

Anyway, he was not stupid or dumb. He could tell you how many cubic yards of snow fell onto the runways and taxiways. He was a genious at math. He definitely did not belong in the military. He was way too intelligent for that.

So ..... if we have a chatty thread, then every time one of our threads with a legitimate topic gets way off track into general chat, I am assuming we can mention something like "Maybe you guys need to take your chat to the chat thread" ?

I am all for being able to do that.

.....or will we still be seeing general chat posts on all the threads?
