I guess all those in an earlier thread who predicted that cold weather was going to be the end of the OCCUPY movement look a little silly today. If anything the movement has retrenched and emerged STRONGER.
Perhaps a few politicians will take notice of the tens of thousands and stop kissing the asses of the couple dozen teabaggers still masquerading as a movement.

For a wider view of what's going on:

Not sure where the 83 came from either - I meant to reply to you.

That has nothing to do with capitalism and corporations and EVERYTHING to do with big government and furthered socialization of the economy. In other words, the solutions OWSers are hinting at will NOT solve that - actually, they'll make it WORSE. Btw it's spelled "Switzerland" and "Cayman Islands" (and you're wrong about where the money goes, anyway - look up corporate taxation and how they, you know, employ people). At least learn about what you're criticizing.

lulwhat? It died even before the winter when not even the Democratic party would identify with it. OWS is nothing new, despite what its supporters like to think. It's merely the latest iteration of Marxist movements that have cropped up now and then since the turn of the 20th century. Like all the other movements, it will fade away as people remember that the real world has nothing to do with the idealistic, ignorant, and naive fantasizations of a few Marxist hippies.

No, you didn't get my point at all and no, I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings. So, why don't you explain to us how the new and improved OWS movement will establish real change for us all.

I wouldn't know: I'm not a Republican or a right winger...or a crypto Nazi for that matter.

Oh, then you missed my point, none of us can answer that question. Only time and the people involved will be able to tell after everything is said and done. Who thought the protests in Egypt would go the way they went, but that still doesn't answer what the future of those protests will lead to, all we can do is wait and see, or take part and hope for the best.
