According to NBC, if all goes well all of Lower Manhattan will have power restored tonight.

I certainly hope so. I'm refreshing Twitter every minute or so waiting for the news. I missed the first restart by less than half a block (I'm two buildings west of Broadway). Ugh.

hi all, checking in. first time i've been online since the storm hit. we live in red hook where the situation is very dire. no electricity, no heat, no hot water and in nycha, no running water. we're currently estimated to get power back november 11th. thankfully we are ok, as well as our apartment. however, the damage to others homes and the businesses is heartbreaking. if anyone is interested in volunteering or donating, please get in touch with red hook initiative.

Well my first day back on here since Sandy, I have had no internet/TV, power just came back on Wednesday. This was without a doubt, ten times worse than Irene. I live in South Beach, Staten Island, and the water came very close to my house, even though I was in Zone B. Police in boats, in pitch blackness, were going down the block to rescue people who stayed in Zone A.

Just a very harrowing experience. I have been out of work all week. last time that happened was 9/11.
