Huh? Looks like police brutality from the tape. So what if he was resisting arrest? That doesn't give the officer the right to kill him. Chokeholds are against the rules, anyway.

How humanitarian of you. The arson and looting in Ferguson destroyed a lot of businesses. A lot of black-owned businesses. Destroyed the livelihoods and dreams that hard work made possible. Many of those people are finished. They did not contribute to Brown's demise. Yet you hope for the same thing in NYC. What a credit you are to the human race.

If the cop in Ferguson was black would it make a difference?

what if the guy who died was white?

What difference does it make what color they are.

What if it was a Chinese cop arresting and Eskimo?

For the record there is no such thing as "black on black" crime, that term in itself is an attempt to criminalize black people in general when the VAST majority of black people are law abiding. When the Italian/Jewish Mob was killing each other in this country for over a century it was never coined a "white on white" crime problem. Same for the Aryan Nation or Hell Angel motorcycle gangsters. Or the Russian Mob, or the Asian Triads, etc...

But for all you people that always stick up for law enforcement when they run foul under the guise that "blacks deserve it, they're all criminals anyway" mantra just know that the REAL criminals, you know the ones that share the same race as you but could give a rats ass about you will eventually sick their pigs on YOU. And by the that time it will be far too late in the game I assure you...

Lookie here, another case where police officers are captured on video beating up a woman. You guessed it, the cops involved here were cleared of any wrongdoing. It's like when you run down a pedestrian and claim you didn't see the baby or your brakes got stuck.

There should be a law nationwide that says if you are a cop and commit these acts of barbarism, you will be subjected to criminal prosecution. I know, congress would never pass such a thing. Congress is so useless that they can't fuQQ their way out of a paper bag so there's that.

Why is it so many Whites (on City Data) insist that all blacks share the same brain?

Not everyone needs to be concerned. White, black, brown and yellow people who follow the law, work, and otherwise lead a good life do not have much to fear from police officers. EG and MB brought on their own problems with the police by not doing just that.

Chokeholds are against NYPD policy; however, years ago, chokeholds (when properly applied) quickly and safely subdued resistant individuals. Many police departments allowed them and taught them. Then some cops got careless and applied them incorrectly which did lead to some deaths, thus causing many department to prohibit them.

Was the NYPD officer wrong to apply the chokehold? Yes. Did he intend to kill Garner? IMO, no.

I agree. The real issue actually has little to do with race. You could substitute any person of little status, for now, eventually this will expand.
