I seriously think you get a lot of crap with FB. We've never had problems with our computers until we started with FB. Whenever you add an application you are opening yourself to the possibility of viruses or someone hacking into your account as you share all your info with the third party. Sometimes I have to wonder if FB is really worth it.

Yeah, city_data91 was using some app that would alert you when someone unfriends you on Facebook, so he knew who to "confront". Then he posted a day or so ago that the app was discontinued, because people were complaining it's a violation of privacy (and several of his "friends" chose just that time to unfriend him, LOL. Coincidence?).

Apparently there are more out there, but I don't know anything about the spyware issue. I would not be surprised if it were the case, though. Facebook has been prone to viruses, so I'm wary of many apps, now. Yikes.

I don't add any FB apps either. A couple of weeks ago I had two viruses in one week and I didn't download anything or visit suspect sites. It was such a pain in the arse.

Exactly. In just the last couple months, I had a couple friends get some virus that was posting links to a video on their friends' pages, with a comment like "You have to see this, too funny, LOL!". I didn't click the links. =P

Last year I had a hell of a time with the Koob virus (from facebook). Took me a couple of days to finally get it all cleaned out, in safe mode. It would regenerate with every reboot, otherwise. UGH.

I feel like deleting some people. This one girl keeps popping up and I just don't remember her at all. When my brother died I had a bunch of requests from people, and I guess that's how she ended up on my friend's list, but I can't say I care what the heck she is up to.

My cousin had someone hack into her FB account and unknowingly sent porn out to all her friends.

When I was first on FB it was kind of fun to find "anyone/everyone" I knew. Even if it was a brief acquaintance. Now, I feel differently now that I understand FB more. Especially since FB broadcasts your updates to everyone where it used to be a simple message wall.

Now my FB friend list is only family, people I interact with often on FB, or people I interact with on a regular basis in real life.

If I ran into one of the people I deleted I would have no problem interacting with them, socializing with them, or getting to know them better. In fact, I would have no problem adding them back if that is the case.

Some people just like to keep their circle of friends closer. I actually had someone delete me just this past month. I was a little disappointed because it was someone I really liked, however, since we rarely ever interacted online, and never in real life it was not that big of a deal. If I ran into this person later I would not have any problem with saying, "Hey how have you been?"
This is what you call normal
