Who was worse, Mike Easley or Bev Perdue?

You beat me to it! I guess we know what her political persuasion is! Talk about a low-info McCrory voter!

Here's an interesting take on Gov. McCrory's role as a "dupe" in the HB2 debacle:

Hopefully our governor will be a one term idiot. We cannot afford 4 more years of him.

Despite the unfortunate circumstances of HB2, I'm beginning to really like the guy. Especially considering what he's done for attracting businesses and boosting the economy over the last 3 years.

He's definitely the best NC governor in the last 15 years and probably one of the best in the nation, based purely on economic results.

How so? What businesses? The economy was already recovering prior to his arrival. The film industry in Wilmington is melting away as states like Georgia and Louisiana ramp up on tax incentives to lure productions away from what was known as "Hollywood" east.

What big business or industry has he championed since in office? He's living off the legacy and the national pro-business perception of NC's previous success stories. And strictly due to arrogance, he's allowing certain businesses to be the fall guy as a result of HB2 as concerts or other jobs are bowing out.

It's a slow but consistent downward ripple effect that will eventually impact NC. I was actually neutral about McCory as mayor of Charlotte (pro transit, etc) and considered voting for him in 2012 but now, no way in hell. He' succumbed and punked to the social conservative gauntlet.

Just Georgia; NC actually followed Louisiana's footsteps: Major downturn plagues Louisiana's film, TV industry 'Hollywood South' after big changes to tax credit program | The Advocate — Baton Rouge, Louisiana

But yeah, I'm not really seeing where McCrory has been particularly good in terms of luring businesses. Sure NC has had some wins under his administration, but I don't think he's been knocking it out of the park. Nikki Haley he is not.

I live on the edge of the Charlotte metro. Under Bev, my town got very good businesses, including 3 data centers, regularly. Under Patty-boy, he refused to sign for a 4000 job casino because he takes money from the Cherokee Nation. The only business that he was involved with was a Chinese mill. You can think whatever you want. I think that he's been terrible. I doubt that people who would have benefited from Volvo or any of the other multiple big job deals who went elsewhere argree with you.

Film industry subsidies have a terrible ROI. I'm glad we cut back on wasting tax money on them. There are a lot more permanent and lucrative industries we should be trying to attract.
