Some people like to take trips to places where movies were made. That's a continuing source of tourist dollars coming into an area. Movies & TV shows infuse money while shooting is happening. Afterwards, money continues to come in because of tourism.

I like that there is a lot of filming in this area, I just don't think they deserve taxpayer funded corporate subsidies. Especially since the profit center is still in Hollywood and we just get their lunch money and a few temporary jobs.

If a town/city has something that cannot be duplicated elsewhere, they will come, regardless of incentives. If there are options, they will go to the location with the best incentives.
When Homeland was shooting in Charlotte, they used city hall in my town for a scene. They paid perfectly good money to do that. That was like found money, just like when a movie that was shooting nearby used the city cemetery here in town for a scene. If the place where you live couldn't use some extra cash just for existing, you might not understand that benefit.

I understand it, but not paying tax dollars for it. Especially when the money could go to more lucrative Industries

So now do we not only have none of their tax dollars we have none of their money period. None of the jobs, the feeder jobs in hospitality such as food and hotels, not showing Charlotte on tv or movies, none of the money they spend in the state while here, and losing the taxes we would have made on those feeder industries.
In the era of $7.25 being seen as decent money, Pat does rate 1 point! But that's all!
