^^^^ What hotzcatz said! It feels good over there! And there's more unspoiled beauty. Some fantastic beaches... islands to kayak to... a couple of road choices to get across to town. I have a friend/coworker who's lived over there for decades.
Well - as I look out my lanai, Kailua is a no brainer over Kapolei, especially if working in Waikiki - but Kailua is considerably more expensive than Kapolei, figure 20+% or more for something comparable.
Hunterseat- lol yep you've mentioned it a few times I should take note of it!
Mikala-what sort of commute do you have from Mililani? How does the time vary during peak commuting vs. non peak?
There's a gymnastics place sorta close to there, I think it's in Waikele...called Island Tumblers, do you happen to know anything about it?
Hotzcatz-I will start researching Kailua...It looks like there are 2 high schools in that area...Kailiua and Kalahoe. Kalahoe has higher test scores. Do you know anything about those schools? What about the different areas in Kailua? It looks pretty big and sorta spread out or at least what I'm looking at on the map for the school zone SchoolSite Locator
There is a gymnastics facility in Kaneohe, that place looks sorta close to Kailua. Anyone know anything about Kokokahi Gymnastics?
Anyone want to take a stab at peak commute times from some of the areas in Kailua to Waikiki or chime in on the areas feel free As always I'm open to suggestions
I only commute to Mapunapuna (airport area), and it takes me about 30 mins during morning commute, I leave before the afternoon commute. That's my limit.
We have no children in gymnastics so I have no idea.

The commute from Kailua to Waikiki will generally run you about 45 minutes but that can vary considerably especially when UH is in session. With no traffic and catching the lights just right it can be done around 30. (Although a lot of this varies with where in Kailua).
This may sound like a stupid question, we don't have school buses for our schools where I live now, are there school buses for the public schools there? If so, do most kids use them?
