One of the world's greatest inventions.. Computers.. I can't imagine what the entire modern world would do if everyone had to do a LOT of paperwork in all areas of business and everything else in general.. Also, without computers, I would not have a career.. So I can't imagine myself sitting at home twiddling my thumbs...

For those of you who might hate computers... give me a minute to sneak outta here before you start tossing things at me...

There were numerous every day items we use that were invented long ago and of course they made significant improvements on them. Such items are:
- Computers
- Electronics and Various Media (TVs, Audio Systems, etc) Do you still have an 8-track player?
- Guns... I can't imagine having to shoot a target 200 to 500 yards away with a sling-shot, a spear, or a bow and arrow..
- Automobiles - Wanna drive a horse-drawn carriage on one of the interstates.. or take the family on vacation in such form of transportation?
- Fuel injection systems and improvements in automobiles over the past 20 years has made them more fuel efficient, and added more horsepower to the engines.
- Aviation - With lots of improvements just in the last 3 decades.

The printing press. It gave people access to information without making them slaves to the manner in which it was delivered.

Mike if there were no computers you'd be sitting at a desk typing away on an old fashioned typewriter and putting the paperwork in a file folder then putting it in your filing cabinet. Then when the call came you'd run to the nearest telephone booth change and save the day.

Internet and the world wide web no doubt. (Or at least from an education standpoint)
It's like having every library in the world at your fingertips.

When I get up in the morning, my bed is the greatest thing (And house for that mater!).

When I need to go to work, my car is the greatest thing (no need to scoop up after the horses! haaa).

When my laundry needs cleaning, the washing machine is the greatest thing (no rocks or river needed ).

When I need food, the grocery is the greatest (so glad I don't have to hunt and gather!)

When I want to reach out to someone (my dear aunt comes to mind), the telephone is the greatest.

When I want to post this on the internet, my computer, electricity, the internet and CD are the greatest things!
