Eyeglasses are a good one, and everyone knows about the wheel, but I'm going to say language. It is the essence of everything we say and do, and no non-human animal has a language that is better than extremely rudimentary.

My serious addition to the list (earlier I suggested crack cocaine and suicide bomb vests) is the domestication of the dog. Without the protection, the work and the sheer partnership civilization as we know it would have been impossible.

Electricity, telegraph, telephone. Bikes, cars. What was the first discovery? Fire? Writing on cave walls? Human ingenuity. Animals and birds, I think, have helped humans, discover. Look how birds build their nests........incredible. Anyway, this is a great topic!!!
