My LR is decidedly different than the family room......the LR is more like what was once called...."the preachers parlor" or "front room".....we walk thru it....but seldom sit in there unless we have company. Actually the dog spends more time in the LR than we do because she likes to sleep on the couch. In the family room we have 2 recliners but no couch.

Come to think of it.....we also seldom eat in the Dining Room...unless we have company for dinner.

Today's Question(s):

Do you have a TV in your living room ?
yes

Does the TV get turned off when someone stops over ? the TV in the living rooms has not even been turned on for over a year that I know of (don't have cable or sattelite)
and when people stop over, time is spent in the kitchen, outside or at the barn (live on a farm)

Bonus Question:

Which of the current "trends" out there drive you crazy ?
not sure on this one

Extra Credit Question :

When was the last time you were in a park ?
can't remember the last time I was at a park

Do you have a TV in your living room ?
I have a "great room" - I guess that's s'posed to be the LR and FR combined? Anyway - yep, the TV is there, but doesn't get watched much.
I usually flip the small one on in the guest room - it's cozier.

Does the TV get turned off when someone stops over ?
Nope - that's when it comes on! It's a pretty good size & makes for a fun "movie night" at home with friends.

Which of the current "trends" out there drive you crazy ?
The "trend" of our media-obsessed world. It's like a feeding frenzy - paparazzi following every silly celebrity doing something to
shame his or her mama; "reality stars" who shouldn't have had 15 minutes of fame to begin with; and worst of all: politics has gone
Hollywood - or is it the other way around???

When was the last time you were in a park ?
Couple of days ago - me and the dogs enjoying some rays!

Today in History:
1943 - Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Oklahoma!," premieres in New York City - ok everyone sing Ooooooooklahoma where the wind..........
Thanks for today's song-in-your head-all-day!

Today is:
Turkey Neck Soup Day - Because after all, "parts is parts"

Good afternoon Karla and company!

Do you have a TV in your living room ?

Yep and we only have the one living room

Does the TV get turned off when someone stops over ?

If someone comes over to see me yes it gets shut off. If someone comes over to see the kids no because they are either watching a movie or playing video games.

Which of the current "trends" out there drive you crazy ?

Agree with all that has been said can anybody tell me when this saggy britches trend is going to ever end?

I am tired of pregnant women wearing body forming clothing or shirts that are too short.

When was the last time you were in a park ?

Actually last Monday looking to see how high the river was.

Do you have a TV in your living room ? Yes.

Does the TV get turned off when someone stops over ? Yes, unless they stopover for a DVD evening

When was the last time you were in a park ? This morning and afternoon. Always have to go through the park when bringing DS to the day nursery which is situated in our town park. So we can watch the birds sing and the trees getting green.
