It is a pretty huge clumsy helicopter, almost an invitation to shoot it down

It is a large target, that's for sure. I am reading that they were on a mission to rescue another team which was pinned down by enemy fire.

Tell that to all the past, present and future lunatic dictators that rise or have risen to power and see what they say. Of course they will agree and when you lay down your arms slaughter you. Good luck.

The US military machine continues on and on folks.

Our military is everywhere whether presently aggressive or not. We are not interested in using any of that military funding for anything else. We need the games to go on. When we still have huge numbers of soldiers in Japan and Germany for strategic reasons, how could we leave Afghanistan for currently hot strategic reasons (Pakistan)?

This is much bigger than Obama, Bush or any president, this is what the American Military & Marketing Empire set out to do long ago! And we will continue...

Why are we flying our most prized soldiers around in a big, clumsy helicopter in front of the very people we taught to shoot down helicopters?

Back in 2005 the SEALs lost some men trying to rescue others. Obviosuly rescue missions are top priority, and these guys will do anything to get their people back to safety.

As a person who has over 2350 flight hours and recently retired....(AUG 2009), I can guarantee you they can haul more than 100 people (yes all at the same time)....as mission dictated........

Just happens to be the fastest, can carry the largest amount, and can fly higher than any other military helicopter, (no need to tell me about the British helicopter it's not military).

Is no where near clumsy....

A video...I have posted on youtube...

‪CH-47 Chinook helicopter‬‏ - YouTube

Just as an Apache pilot....if going to altitude...does he want a half a tank of gas and a full load of ammo or half ammo and full tank of gas?...

Almost the same with the Blackhawk...no altitude..lack of power....
