I never heard about him filing against her. Please document.
I read that too.
Still, I get a picture of someone who has a bad temper, has been involved in numerous incidents involving force or violence, and has been obsessive about calling 911. Hope this isn't off topic, but isn't 911 supposed to be for emergencies? I've read several of the reports from earlier calls Zimmerman made to 911 and many of them are petty. I've called the police a few times in my life, but unless I saw a car accident or thought someone was in danger, I just use the regular number. Maybe he called the police a lot more than we know, since those calls usually aren't recorded.
Regarding the restraining order, she accused him of domestic abuse and filed first. It sounds as if Zimmerman has gotten some good legal advice in the past, which is probably why he filed one against his fiancee.
In August 2005, Zimmerman’s ex-fiancee, Veronica Zuazo, filed a civil motion for a restraining order alleging domestic violence. Zimmerman counterfiled for a restraining order against Zuazo. The competing claims were resolved with both restraining orders being granted

I can't believe this guy got off and was made a hero!! He was told 14 times not to go outside, and was not charged. If that's the standard, Zimmerman is going to go free.

That case did not get the media attention it should have. There are many differences between these two cases, although, this one was bizarre. You have to question the real intent behind a law that is so vague that it allows this kind of thing to happen. We know who is behind the lobbying for the law, so not too difficult to connect the dots.

BOTH are guilty...the kid for going into a bad neighborhood...and the Zimmerman guy for being in an affluent bad neighborhood thinking money makes him better...than the rest.

It is very common and par for the course for someone named in a domestic abuse order of protection filing to do the same to the other person. Saves face and if something come up down the road...like now...it looks as if he was not totally guilty. Was probably advised to do so...IMO.
I recall an incident with one of my kids years ago where he picked up what turned out to be a mj pipe out of curiosity in the boy's bathroom in high school, was taking it to the office and was caught with it in his hand. I required my kids to pass a drug test to drive. I asked him if he was ready for a test, he said by all means. Mj use within a month or more will test positive. I took the test results to the school the next day and they apologized and since the school counselor has blabbed all over the school HE was suspended and subsequently fired.
Prosecution just needs to prove who killed a person, in this situation that is not in dispute. The prosecution doesn't need to prove motive. The defense needs to establish that it was a lawful.
