The Florida statutes dealing with self-defense state that the person using deadly force must be in “imminent danger of death or great bodily harm.” In other words, Zimmerman must prove more than just that he was losing afight to a boy nearly half his size.Zimmerman must prove that he feared death or great bodily harm, even though he did not seek medical attention at a hospital until a day after the alleged fight.
I think you'll find in most states "Great Bodily Harm" will include someone on top of you pounding you and your head to cement. All they will have to prove is that is what happened.
Many states are pretty strong on self defense. One will have to prove it was and the other will have to prove it wasn't.

Good luck to Zimmerman with that. If I were him, right about now, I'd be throwing up.
I honestly wonder if this guy will kill himself if it's made clear that he is going to be indicted.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if his family has him on a suicide watch. His history shows that he would have a problem with authority. The thought of being subjected to prison time if tried and found guilty is horrible to anyone let alone a guy like this. After the voice identification results came out today, I'm sure it's devestating to him and his family.
George Zimmerman's neighbor describes his injuries (http://www.myfoxorlando.com/dpp/news/local/033112-George-Zimmerman's-neighbor-describes-his-injuries - broken link)
Again, dont know how credible he is but the person states they did see injuries.

I suppose we'll just have to wait for the photos of the injuries to reveal the extent of the injuries sustained. No doubt they exist...this is a murder case claiming self defense, after all. Still, Trayvon Martin also had the right to "stand his ground". No?
