Ummm, wasn't that guy in Miami high on PCP? Yeah, it does happen where pot gets laced. Rarely. But it happens. Someone can also unsuspectingly slip something into your drink as well. I'll bet that happens way more than someone getting laced pot. I worked in bars back in the day, and have seen it.
I've only ever had a contact high, but I think I'd much rather drink an alcoholic beverage.
Not a beer though, hell no. Smirnoff, margaritas, etc. All the stuff it isn't cool for a man in Texas to drink, that's what I drink.
As for which is safer, I think it depends on your personality. Some people probably take "the munchies" further when they're high than other people do on the same high. Similarly, some people only get depressed, violent, or reckless when they drink. Others just sit back and relax... sorta like you're supposed to do when you smoke MJ, come to think of it...
On that subject, I'd believe pretty much any explanation.
