Ok, two things:
1. I'd be more insulted that they tried to take advantage of my Christian faith by disingenuously wishing me a merry Christmas just to make a fast buck.
2. If we're really following Christian teaching, we Christians should not be proud of being Christians. the pharisees were proud. but we should be humbled by the fact that Jesus came down to save us from our sins when we were dead in them. We did nothing to EARN our salvation, so there's nothing to be proud of.
THAT is Christmas. Not some cheap retail greeting.
Merry Christmas/hanukah/solstice/whatever to you all.
Christmas is for children more than others. I wonder how atheists explain to their children why they can't join in with the other children to have the fun that goes with Christmas.
I guess seeing their parents go to work that day just like it is any other day doesn't bother them but it sure would me if I had parents like that.

No...Christmas is for Christians who celebrate the fact that our God became man in order to redeem us. That's a pretty big deal. It's not just about presents or birthday parties for Baby Jesus or Santa Claus. It's about the fact that God redeemed mankind.
But I get your point. There are plenty of jerk atheists that are parents of that one kid that had to sit out of the party at school because their parents wanted to make a point.
